Push notifications#
A Talkable Wallet pass can send push notifications to the customer. The text of each notification is a setting in the Editor, so you can edit the wording without changing the template.
Automatic notifications#
You choose which automatic notifications to enable, customize their messages, and control their timing and the conditions for sending them. Once enabled, notifications are sent automatically when those conditions are met, without any action on your side:
Welcome notification — sent after the customer installs the pass, with a delay you set.
Share reminder — sent with a delay you set to a customer who installed the pass but has not shared yet.
Reward reminder — sent with a delay you set after a reward is paid, if the customer has not used it yet.
Referral update — sent when the number of referrals shown on the pass changes, for example when a referral is approved.
Order status update — sent as an order moves, when the pass carries order tracking through AfterShip. You choose which milestones notify the customer: in transit, out for delivery, available for pickup, and delivered.
Location-based notification (Apple Wallet) — a message shown on the customer’s lock screen when they are near a location you set, for example your store. You can set up to two locations, each with its own message, on the Configuration tab of the Apple Wallet view in the Editor.
Edit notification text in the campaign Editor. Enable welcome and reminder notifications and choose their delays and trigger criteria in the Talkable Wallet app in the Talkable App Store. The app also controls referral updates and AfterShip notification milestones.
Notifications you send#
Custom push notification — a one-off message you send to current pass holders from the campaign’s Push Notifications action.
Promo notification — sent to pass holders when a Wallet promotion starts. While the promotion runs, the pass carries the promotion’s content, and it returns to its usual content when the promotion ends. Wallet promotions are set up with your Customer Success Manager.
Sales attribution and reporting#
Push notifications are measured by their outcome: the sales and revenue attributed to them. Sales that follow a push notification are attributed to the notification and reported as Wallet Push Notification Sales. Sales attribution is enabled per notification type, so the metric covers the types you have turned it on for. In the Metrics Aggregation Report you can filter and segment those metrics by Wallet push notification type, so you can compare attributed sales and revenue across the types of notification you send. Location-based notifications are not included in that breakdown, because Apple does not provide the data needed to identify them.
Sales that follow a promo notification, or a click on a promotion’s link, are reported separately as Wallet Promo Sales. See Reporting.
